As the year draws to a close, Trading Standards officers are continuing to tackle the illicit trade in vapes, cigarettes and tobacco in Luton.

Luton Council has officially launched ‘Connect to Work’, a new five-year programme designed to help residents overcome barriers to employment and start meaningful careers while supporting their wellbeing.

Recycling and waste collections in Luton will change from late March 2026, making it easier for residents to recycle more and reduce waste.

A new network of Welcoming Spaces has been launched to help Luton residents discover the wide range of groups, clubs, and activities taking place in their neighbourhoods – and to support even more opportunities for people to come together.

Luton’s new Economic Growth Strategy for 2025–2032 was unveiled at the Economic Growth and Skills Summit.
