Luton Borough Council
13/02/2026 - Supporting Luton residents with job opportunities
Luton residents are invited to attend a free job fair hosted by Luton Council in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions and Luton Town Football Club.
Taking place on Thursday 26 February at Luton Town Football Club, the event will give job seekers the chance to explore current vacancies, meet employers face-to-face and learn about training, upskilling and apprenticeship opportunities.
A wide range of employers and local organisations are expected to attend, including Luton Airport, Luton Town Football Club, the NHS, Willmott Dixon, Jobcentre Plus, Flexistaff, CVS and Luton Council’s recruitment team.
The event will also feature industry talks and employability workshops delivered by Luton Adult Learning, with expert advice on training opportunities, job hunting and career development.
Since February 2024, the council and its partners have delivered more than a dozen job fairs across the town, engaging over 4,000 residents and working with more than 170 employers. Previous events have helped hundreds of attendees progress into interviews, employment and volunteering opportunities, with further job fairs planned for the year ahead.
Councillor Javeria Hussain, Portfolio Holder for Education, Employability and Skills at Luton Council, said: “Our job fairs play a crucial role in connecting residents with real employment opportunities while supporting local businesses to meet their recruitment needs. Whether you’re starting out, returning to work, or looking for a change in direction, I would encourage residents to come along and take advantage of the support on offer.”
Bert Klemmer, Programmes Manager (Education, Employability & Learning) at Luton Town FC Community Trust, said: “We are proud to be hosting a job fair at Kenilworth Road stadium alongside our local partners, bringing together the club, local organisations and our community to showcase real opportunities in employment, training and education in Luton. Through our Supporting Luton Into Employment project for adults and our youth employability programmes, we are committed to breaking down barriers, building confidence and creating clear pathways into sustainable work. By connecting people directly with employers, training providers and tailored support, this event reflects our wider commitment to the Luton 2040 vision – ensuring everyone in our community has the chance to thrive.”
Ben B Groves, Recruitment Advisor Manager for Bedfordshire at Department for Work and Pensions, said: “Luton Jobcentre Plus is proud to partner with Luton Council and Luton Town FC on this exciting event, connecting our customers directly with local employers, large and small, who are actively recruiting and ready to meet candidates face to face.”
The job fair will be held on Thursday 26 February from 11am to 2pm at Luton Town Football Club, 1 Maple Road East, LU4 8AW.
Admission is free and no prior registration is required.
