Planning enforcement

We place great importance on protecting and enhancing the quality of the built and natural environment.
The enforcement of planning control is a key activity in ensuring that this strategic vision is not undermined by the harmful effects of inappropriate development and is vital to maintaining public confidence in the planning system. Residents and businesses have a right to expect that harmful activities are dealt with effectively. Therefore it is considered of key importance to remedy breaches of planning control where it is appropriate to do so in the public interest.
