I want to leave because my home doesn't meet my household needs

Overcrowding or other reasons

There are a number of reasons why you may feel that your home does not meet your household needs. These can include:
  • the location of your home
  • the size of your home
  • the type of home
If your home does not meet your household needs, you should look at other options available to you. The most common and option is to look for alternative private sector rentals.

Please visit 'what are my housing options?' to find out more.

You can also apply to be added to the Choice Based Lettings housing register. This will mean you're registered for social housing. Your housing conditions or any other reason can then be assessed to see if this will give you any priority.

If you already live in a council or housing association home in Luton, you can apply for a transfer or exchange. See our council tenancies and transfers page.

Our housing allocations policy tells you more about how housing decisions are made.
