05/01/2026 - Closure order issued at local over-55s housing community
Luton Council has successfully secured a full closure order on a property in Robert Allen Court, Langley Street, following persistent drug and alcohol-related anti-social behaviour.
On 22 December 2025, Luton Magistrates’ Court granted a three-month closure order for 27 Robert Allen Court, the home of tenant David Duffy. Robert Allen Court is a housing community for residents aged 55 and over.
If you are affected by anti-social behaviour, you can report it on the council's website.
Complaints included intoxicated visitors coming and going at all hours, loud noise overnight, verbal abuse in communal areas, and criminal damage to windows and garden furniture, which negatively impacted other residents. Despite multiple warnings from the housing provider and the council’s Priority Anti-Social Behaviour Team, the behaviour continued.
Councillor Maria Lovell, portfolio holder for community safety, said: “Everyone has the right to feel safe in their homes. Anti-social behaviour that disrupts the lives of others will not be tolerated. The closure order will help restore peace to the community and sends a clear message that we will take firm action to protect our residents.”
