Biodiversity and nature conservation

Conservation in Luton is managed through the Parks and Countryside Service. We partner with The Wildlife Trust to deliver works locally.
A great deal of conservation work is done by volunteers from the community, who are managed by The Wildlife Trust or the Parks and Countryside Service.
Natural England surveys and monitors important habitats and species throughout the town.
We have important wildlife spaces in our town, including several nationally recognised sites of special scientific interest (SSSIs), which host important and rare species.
