Find my polling station
Photo ID
You need photo ID to vote at a polling station. If you do not have a photo ID, please apply for a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) by Wednesday 25 March 2026 at 5pm.
Postal vote handling
If you hand deliver your postal vote to a polling station or the Town Hall, you will need to complete a ‘Postal Vote Return Form’ for your vote to be counted.
You may not hand deliver more than 5 postal votes for other electors (excluding your own). If you are a political campaigner, you can only hand in your own postal vote, and those of close relatives.

Thursday 26 February 2026:
- earliest date to officially become a candidate
- earliest date to be supplied with a copy of the electoral register
Friday 27 February 2026:
- first day for submission of nomination papers
Friday 6 March 2026 at 4pm:
- deadline for submission of nomination papers
- deadline for appointment of election agents
- last date for withdrawal of a candidate
Monday 9 March 2026 at 4pm:
- publication of statement of persons nominated, including notice of poll and situation of polling stations
Thursday 26 March 2026:
- deadline for appointment of counting agents
- deadline for appointment of polling agents
Thursday 2 April 2026:
- polling day (7am to 10pm)
- verification and count at Town Hall (10pm)
Thursday 7 May 2026:
- deadline for return of election spending returns
