13/12/2024 - Nominations open for Luton Apprenticeship Awards 2025

Luton Council is calling on local businesses from all sectors and training providers to put forward nominations for an award ceremony which will be held for the first time early next year.

Luton Council is calling on local businesses from all sectors and training providers to put forward nominations for an award ceremony which will be held for the first time early next year.

The Luton Apprenticeship Awards will be an opportunity to express thanks to and recognise the achievements of Luton’s apprentices across the town as well as the employers and training providers who work incredibly hard to make apprenticeships such a success in Luton.

There are twelve categories including Young Apprentice of the Year, Women in Stem, Best Small Employer for Apprentices and Community Impact Award.

Councillor Javeria Hussain, Portfolio Holder for Skills and Employability, said: “With sectors ranging from construction, engineering, aviation, retail and hospitality, local government, professional services including legal, banking, insurance, accountancy to creative and digital, Luton has always made the most of every opportunity to grow. The town also has the third highest rate of business start-ups in the country. It’s also a town with a diverse, talent pool.

“Apprenticeships can play an important part in the growth of these sectors and many businesses have seen the value of how apprentices contribute to their workplace and that means also contributing to the town's growth and success.

“So we urge businesses and organisations from all sectors to put forward their nominations so we can all celebrate their contribution together”.

For individuals to be eligible they should either currently be enrolled on an apprenticeship or have completed it in the last 12-months and be living or working in Luton. For organisations, nominees should be based in Luton, employ Luton residents or contribute to the improvement of the town and its community.

The deadline for nominations is Thursday 19 December and the event will take place Wednesday 26 February at Putteridge Bury.
