07/02/2023 - New film showcases apprenticeship opportunities in Luton, from robotics and digital marketing, to nursing and conveyancing

A film showcasing inspiring apprenticeships featuring mechatronics and robotics, electronic engineering, nursing and conveyancing apprentices across different industries in Luton has been launched during National Apprenticeship Week.

The film, created by Amazing Apprenticeships on behalf of Luton Council, aims to highlight the amazing opportunities there are for those seeking apprenticeships in Luton. Apprentices from leading companies, including Stellantis (Vauxhall), Luton Council and the NHS offer insight into their motivations to pursue an apprenticeship, the experiences they have had, and the opportunities now open to them.

Councillor Aslam Khan, Deputy Leader of Luton Council, said: “We are proud of the many apprenticeship opportunities available in the town, some of which are highlighted in our new film. Apprenticeships not only have a positive impact on the individual but also create many benefits for employers and the wider economy. They are a fantastic way of enhancing skills, ensuring our residents are able to access quality, well paid jobs.

“The variety of apprenticeships available in Luton are not just for young people, but people of all ages, interested in all industries. Apprenticeships are a great way to enter your chosen career, allowing you to learn through education and experience at the same time.”

Anna Morrison CBE, founder and director of Amazing Apprenticeships, said: “Having worked with the team at Luton Council for many years, it’s been brilliant to be able to recognise such a diverse range of apprenticeships available in the area and follow these inspiring young people in their day-to-day roles. What struck us most was how relatable the apprentices are as role models to young students in the local area. Their enthusiasm around their career, the work they are doing and the opportunities their apprenticeship is providing is simply inspirational.”

The film was produced with support from Luton Careers Hub, South East Midlands LEP and The Careers and Enterprise Company. The film is now live on the Amazing Apprenticeship website at https://amazingapprenticeships.com/apprenticeships-in-luton/ and will be distributed to schools, colleges and local community groups.

Watch the film in full and be inspired by the amazing opportunities Luton has to offer.
