28/04/2025 - Employability Day - helping young people to choose pathways to success

The annual Luton Employability Day is returning in 2025 with over 20 exhibitors showcasing the education, training and employment opportunities available for Luton’s young people.
The event, which will be held on Tuesday 27 May at Chiltern Academy, will allow those aged 10-20 to meet with employers, join a themed workshop, and interact with role models and experts to help attendees identify stepping stones for future success.
Employers and local organisations that are expected to take part include Hannah Solicitors, Lloyd’s of London, London Luton Airport, the RAF, the British Army and the NHS.
Councillor Javeria Hussain, Portfolio Holder for Skills and Employability, said: “Now in its fourth year, this event is a fantastic example of our commitment to supporting our children and young people build a bright and successful future. I encourage any young person interested in exploring education, work, apprenticeship or training opportunities to attend and have the chance to connect with a variety of organisations ready to support them in taking their next steps.
“The event aligns with our Luton 2040 vision of a town built on fairness where everyone can thrive, and no-one has to live in poverty.”
Dr Dwain Neil OBE, chairman of Reach Society, said: “I hope that young people in Luton will seize this opportunity to learn more about the options available to them and discover pathways to success. With such a diverse group of role models and employers in attendance, there will be something for everyone.”
Reach Society was founded as a social enterprise in 2010 to encourage, motivate and inspire young people, especially those from the Black community, to develop their potential and discover pathways to success through increased contact with knowledgeable role models and employers in several sectors.
