Luton Borough Council
15/02/2024 - Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Committee Meeting Thursday 7 March 2024
Luton’s Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Committee meeting will be held on Thursday 7th March 2024 at 6pm, Luton Town Hall, Council Chamber.
The public are welcome to attend and there will be opportunity to ask questions in advance of the meeting.
This year’s focus is on visibility of local policing and high levels of crime. We will be discussing with our partners, the Community Safety Partnership and the Police, to see how these issues can be addressed.
Luton’s Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Committee meets annually to review or scrutinise decisions made, or other actions taken, in connection with the discharge by the responsible authorities of their crime and disorder functions.
Cllr David Wynn, chair of the Scrutiny Crime and Disorder Committee said: “We know that visibility and staffing of local policing together with increasing levels of violent street crime are both major concerns for our town. We need to work together as a community to understand the issues and the voice of our community needs to be heard.”
Members of the public are welcome to attend this meeting, either online or in person. If you would like to attend remotely, please contact [email protected] and a Teams link will be sent to you.
Please send any written questions to the above email, by 4 pm on Wednesday 6 March 2024.
The agenda and papers will be made available to view on the Council’s website about a week before the meeting.
