28/11/2023 - A new post-16 prospectus has launched for Luton Council

Luton Council’s 14 to 19 team has produced a new interactive prospectus that will aide young people and their parents about post-16 options and pathways

The interactive guide holds useful tips and information about:
  • preparation for Year 11s for their next steps
  • pathways available
  • open day events
  • apprenticeships and jobs
  • key tips and preparing for the world of work
  • CVs
  • course listings
  • information about School Sixth Forms and Colleges in Luton
  • advice for learners with an EHCP or additional support needs
The prospectus works alongside the support young people get from their school, college, career advisers and any other professionals that they may talk to about their future.

With so many options available after finishing secondary school, sometimes young people can feel overwhelmed with choice. The new post-16 guide outlines all the options available in a simple
and interactive format, allowing students to make the best, most informed choice for themselves.

Councillor Javeria Hussain, portfolio holder for enhancing skills and education, said “Making the right choice can sometimes feel impossible for young people, especially with so many amazing options available to them in Luton. This new guide equips them with all the information they need, all in one place, and allows them to make the best decision for themselves. Our 14 to 19 team are incredibly supportive, and can offer a range of support services for those struggling with life after education.”
