Coronation of King Charles III

 

The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6 May, 2023.

When: Saturday 6 May, 10am to 4pm

Where: St George’s Square and parade from Market Hill

What: ‘Our Global Luton’ party to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Activities on the day

10am: Our Global Luton parade

Groups from local schools will parade from Market Hill to St George’s Square, ending with a flag display in the education services are working with us to promote this widely with schools. The parade will be headed by Dohl Drummers, supported by UKCCA and rounded up by local dancers.

11am: screening of the Coronation

Tables and chairs and food vans to be set up in the square, with grassy area left free for picnic rugs. People can bring down a picnic and watch the event together in the square.

1 to 3.30pm: Our Global Luton party

Entertainment representing ‘global Luton’ and free activities including free face painting, children’s crafts and performers on stilts.

Please register if you're interested in bringing a groups from your school, youth or children’s group to be part of this historic occasion.
