Business and climate change

We've pledged to make the town carbon neutral by 2040 and we need everyone in Luton to help us achieve our goal. We’ve made carbon neutrality a priority locally, to help us tackle the global climate emergency that the planet is facing.

Our chair to the Climate Change Advisory Panel, Councillor Tom Shaw, outlined: "Dealing with climate change needs the community, stakeholders and experts involved.

We want to enable local businesses to identify how they can help us achieve the town’s ambitions. These steps should be taken together, and we understand the important role that business and commerce play in the local climate change landscape.

We want to know your thoughts, such as:

  • what you are currently doing to reduce your business’s carbon footprint?
  • what could you or would you like to do to help reduce your business’s carbon footprint?
  • how can we help with this?
  • would you be willing to shape the borough’s actions in helping to reduce the carbon emissions in Luton?

Whether it's developing active travel plans for your business or helping you engage with key green sector enablers and support schemes, we'd like to work with you in helping us make Luton a more greener, sustainable place to work and live.

If you'd like to speak to someone in more detail about what we're currently doing to cut our carbon emissions and our plans to become carbon neutral by 2040 please email: [email protected].
