Parents of children born between 1/9/2019 to 31/8/2020 must apply for a school place for September 2024.

The closing date for parents to apply for a school place for their child has now passed.

However, you can still apply for a school place for your child.

Please note, late applications and changes of preference will not be considered in the initial allocation of places.

If you are submitting the form to change your preference(s) and we are able to allocate one of the schools you have stated on your form, the school your child was originally allocated will immediately be withdrawn and re-allocated to another child.

You must apply for a school place even if:

  • you have already made an earlier application direct to the school
  • your preferred school is not in Luton
  • your preferred school is a faith school, a foundation school, an academy or a free school
  • your child is attending a pre-school or early years class attached to your preferred school

It is really important that you read our How to apply for a school place for September 2024 guide before making your application.

Making an application using the Education Portal

You must register to the online system if you have not used the online application system in the past year.

Once you have completed the registration, you will be able to access the system using the log in details you have used this year for any future online applications you wish to make.

You will be asked to upload proof of your address to the online system.

You must read the checklist before submitting your application. (hyperlink to checklist)

If you specify St Margaret of Scotland Primary School and/or St Martin de Porres Primary School as a preference, you must also complete the schools’ supplementary form and provide both the completed supplementary form and your child’s original Baptismal Certificate direct to the relevant school.

If you specify Sacred Heart Primary School and/or St Josephs Primary School as a preference, you must provide your child’s original Baptismal Certificate direct to the relevant school.

For late applications received up to 25 April 2024, decisions will be sent to parents on 5 June 2024.

For late applications received up to 23 May 2024, decisions will be sent to parents on 15 July 2024.

Applications received after 23 May 2024 will be processed in due course and the Admissions team will aim to advise parents in writing of the outcome before September 2024.
