Welcoming Spaces: connecting communities in Luton
Welcoming Spaces is a network to help you discover the wide range of groups, clubs, and activities taking place in their neighbourhoods – and to support even more opportunities for people to come together.
Welcoming Spaces provide something for everyone, often just a short walk from home, including:
- coffee mornings
- wellbeing clubs
- gentle exercise sessions
- community cafes
- learning opportunities
- special-interest groups
Developed together with local community partners, our Welcoming Spaces initiative brings together the wealth of activities already happening across the town, making it easier for you to find out what’s on in your area and get involved.
As winter sets in, many of these spaces also offer a warm, safe environment during the day. This helps you to:
- manage household costs
- access support
- find new friends
- get advice
- have the chance to learn new skills

Why join as a Welcoming Space?
We want to support you by letting communities know what's available in their area. We know it can be a struggle to promote smaller groups and let people know about the activities you're running.
The social inclusion coordinator for your area can support and advise you and help you to make new connections and partnerships. We can offer:
- information about local resources
- training to support the work you're doing and the people in your group
- access to free training and networking events
Become part of a more connected local voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector within Luton.
