Report it!
Fly tipping is rubbish dumped illegally onto the street, or on any private or public land.
If fly-tipped waste can be traced back to someone who hasn’t taken appropriate steps to ensure they gave their waste to a person who is licensed, they could receive an on the spot fine or face prosecution.
It can also be issued to an unauthorised carrier if they are found to be disposing of household waste as well to a person who gives their rubbish to an unauthorised person at a site that does not have a permit.
You can check online if someone is authorised with your local Environment Agency office or call 03708 506 506.
If you have extra rubbish that won't go into one of your collection bins, you can take it to one of our household waste recycling centres (tidy tips) or you can arrange for a bulky waste collection.
If you spot dumped rubbish let us know by emailing [email protected] with:
- the date, time and place of the occurrence
- what the waste looks like
- how much waste there is
- a description of any vehicles involved
- the vehicle registration number
- a description of the people fly tipping
