Highway projection licence
A licence is required for any overhanging signs, canopies, cranes, Banners and projections over the Highway.
Do I need a licence?
Yes you do. If you wish to erect any apparatus, canopies, cranes, or banners/signs over the public highway you will need to apply for a Licence from us.

How do I apply?
You will be able to apply online soon for a highway projection licence however this form is not ready yet. Please contact us on the details provided.
What does it cost?
£100 for 5 years. The Licence is issued for a period of five years after which time it will be reviewed.

If I'm turned down, how do I appeal?
You can't appeal. Our decision as the highway authority is final.

The Highway Authority can take enforcement action against anyone causing unlawful wilful obstruction of the highway.
Wilful obstruction of the highway is not only a nuisance, it can cause danger to people using the highway.
