Personal data

Name; address, contact number, email, financial and benefit information, vehicle identification information, DOB, blue badge number.

Purpose for using it

Personal data is being collected in order to maintain a record of the hirer and to ensure payment is received.

Public realm uses your personal data to:

  • fulfil our obligation under the highways Act 1980 – construction of vehicle crossovers
  • issue licences for skips etc to be placed on highways
  • grant permission and installation of disabled bays
  • recouping costs from third parties for damage to highway infrastructure and highway furniture
  • provide a service advise when an MOT is due to expire
  • provide service instructions to employees and contractors for service requests/service delivery
  • invoice customers
  • provide feedback and response requests from members of the public and commercial businesses
  • fulfil our statory duty to make arrangements to provide a waste collection service
  • provides a bulky waste collection service for domestic properties

Lawful basis

Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in your interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

Who we share it with

  • external building contractors
  • highways term maintenance contractor

Why we share it with them

In order to carry out services and construction on our highways as directed by us and to recoup costs incurred for non-programmed work.

No information is transferred outside of the UK

Retention Period

The data will be kept in accordance with our Retention Schedule

Exercising your rights

You have the right to ask us to amend or delete your data as well as to transfer or limit its use. You also have the right to request a review of an automated decision where you think this is wrong.
Each request will be considered individually however, where we are required to keep your data by law we may be unable to action your request. In all circumstances we will explain our decision making in writing to you.
