Children, Families and Education directorate’s use of Magic Notes by BEAM

We are undertaking a 2-month trial of Magic Notes - an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool developed by Beam.

Our Social Workers and Family Help Lead Practitioners will use this tool to record Single Assessments and Supervision meetings on their work-provided mobile phone.

With the service user’s consent, all individuals at the meeting will be included in the recording (including carers, provider staff and others involved in the delivery of services to residents).

The recording will generate a transcription and summary of the meeting (including a list of actions) for our staff.

A Language Model will use the transcription to generate a summary, based on pre-determined prompts agreed with Luton Council.

The prompts are designed to group the relevant meeting points together, depending on the meeting type.
