02/03/2022 - Join our Fairness Task Force Event
On Thursday 10 March we will be holding our next Fairness Taskforce event at the University of Bedfordshire and would like you to join us to see how together we can work towards our Luton 2040 Vision.
Following last November’s launch, we will focus on Work, Skills and Employment Aspirations with a view to looking at the problems and solutions from a variety of perspectives.
The session will cover:
- a quick overview and update on the Fairness Taskforce
- hearing and learning from local people’s achievements and the barriers they have overcome at different stages of their employment journey
- a world café style session with organisations who are already helping to break down barriers and make our community fairer for all
- a ‘creating the change’ session to see how we can implement real-life solutions together
The session begins at 12.30pm and ends at 4pm.
Lunch will be served at 12.30pm
A review of the session will be held from 6pm to 8pm for those unable to attend during the afternoon.
The event will take place at

Aslam Khan, Deputy Leader of the Council and portfolio holder for Skills and Employability, said “An economy that works for everyone in Luton is vital to the 2040 vision to eradicate poverty. Building on the Council’s new Employment and Skills strategy, I urge citizens, businesses and those interested in the topic to join us and help shape Luton’s future direction in this vital area as we bounce back post-pandemic but also face future challenges in areas such as the climate emergency.”
