Christmas in Luton: a season of festive fun for everyone
This winter, Luton town centre comes alive with a vibrant programme of festive activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Delivered in collaboration with our partners, Luton BID and Luton Point, the seasonal line-up celebrates community, creativity and Christmas cheer.
Our free annual Christmas lights switch-on event, Luton Lights Up for Christmas is taking place on Saturday 22 November 2025, with a day of live music and entertainment across the town centre.
This year’s special guest is Paddington™, appearing courtesy of Luton BID. Festivities begin at 11am, with the official lights switch-on scheduled for around 6pm.

Countdown to Christmas at Luton Point
Join the festive celebrations in Central Square, courtesy of Luton Point, with free family fun from 11am to 5pm every weekend from 22 November, and daily from 20 December to Christmas Eve!
What’s on
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November
Step into the Bauble Arena and get creative with bauble decorating – perfect for little hands and big imaginations!
Saturday 29 November
Peppa Pig will be making personal appearances at intervals between 11am and 5pm.
Sunday 30 November
SpongeBob SquarePants will be making personal appearances at intervals between 11am and 5pm.
Plus, all weekend long, Father Christmas will make appearances and give out free festive gifts!
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December
Join in the fun with Luton Point Christmas family bingo. Prizes, laughter and festive cheer for the whole family!
Saturday 13 December
Celebrate the season at the Luton Point Christmas concert, a heartwarming celebration featuring local performers.
Sunday 14 December
Boogie into the holidays at the Luton Point Christmas disco – fun for all ages!
Saturday 20 to Wednesday 24 December
Visit Mrs Claus’ gingerbread kitchen – decorate a sweet treat and take home a delicious memory!

Festive highlights from Luton BID
Luton BID is bringing the magic to town this Christmas, with a festive line-up of free family events designed to make your holidays sparkle.
What’s on
22 November
Meet the one and only Paddington™ (outside the Town Hall, pending confirmation) at intervals from 2 to 6.30pm.
7 December
Real-life reindeer arrive at Market Hill! Snap a photo in their sleigh and even feed them (first come, first served) from 11am to 2pm.
20 December
Step inside a giant snow globe in St George’s Square and sing along to Christmas carols with the amazing Music 24 Community Choir, from 11am to 2.30pm.
Afterwards, warm up with a delicious hot chocolate, available to purchase.
