Luton Bike Recycling Scheme

Our bike recycling scheme gives pre-loved bikes a new home.

Luton Council’s Cycle Promotions team’s bike recycling scheme is part of the Bedfordshire STARS project. The project aims to increase sustainable access to rail stations, helping to reduce congestion and improve air quality and get low cost bikes out in to the community.

We collect pre-loved bikes from the Luton recycle centres or Recycle Your Cycle (an organisation that works for prisoner rehabilitation and raise funds to provide hospice and neurological care). Suitable bikes are then restored to a roadworthy condition ready for use again and available to buy.

So if you’re in need of a bike and on a budget come and see what bikes are available. We are open on Tuesdays between 10am and 3pm or email for a catalogue.

June 2020 update: Our bike recycling scheme has proved a great success since the shop reopened recently, so much so that we are now almost out of stock and have a two month waiting list to view the bike catalogue.

Therefore, if you are thinking of enquiring about a bike we would kindly request you wait until we advertise bike sales again once we have more stock, we will update you as soon as possible.

If you happen to have a bike you no longer want and you’d like to donate it then we'd be very grateful - drop off any unwanted bikes at your local recycle centre or at our shop - please email [email protected] to arrange a time to visit.
