Park sports

If you're interested in bowls, cricket, football or tennis, you can play at a number of places in Luton

Bowls

Open from the last full weekend in April to the first Sunday in October (depending on weather conditions), there are bowling greens at:

Lancaster Avenue recreation ground
Memorial Park

Cricket

There are cricket squares at:

Crawley Green recreation ground
Icknield recreation ground
Lancaster Avenue recreation ground
Leagrave Park (two)
Luton Regional/Stopsley recreation ground (three)
Wardown Park (lower sports ground)

Football and rugby

There are lots of pitches in Luton's parks and recreation grounds, including ones at:

Icknield recreation ground
Leagrave Park
Lewsey Park
Stockwood Park

We have adult, junior, mini-soccer and gaelic/camogie pitches. To find out more information including prices and booking, visit football and rugby pitches.

Tennis

There are tennis courts in the following parks:

Wardown
Memorial
Lewsey
Lancaster Avenue

The courts in Wardown, Memorial and Lewsey parks are locked. You'll need to make a booking to use them. This is to reduce the amount of non-tennis use they get.

There's currently an annual charge of £40 to book courts. Once paid you are able to book online using a booking system and you receive a unique access code for each booking. Please visit Luton Parks Tennis for details on annual membership and booking.

Under 18: £22.80 per game (£19)
18 and over: £76.80 per game (£64)

Two hour training session

Under 18: £15.60 per game (£13)
18 and over: £25.20 per game (£21)
Without changing facilities

Mini soccer (7 or 5-a-side)

Under 18: £14.40 per game (£12)
Without changing facilities

Discounts

Applies to adult (over 18) team bookings only
10% reduction if showers not available
20% if other facilities unavailable and/or no attendant

Cricket matches

Day - per game (max 6-hour game)

Under 18: £19.20 per game (£16)
18 and over: £74.40 per game (£62)
Changing and kitchen facilities included

Midweek evenings - per game (max 3-hour game)

Under 18: £10.80 per game (£9 without changing and kitchen facilities)
18 and over: £38.40 per game (£32 without changing and kitchen facilities)

Additional 30 minutes in all games

Under 18: £10.80 (£9)
18 and over: £19.20 (£16)
Without changing and kitchen facilities

Discounts

10% reduction on 20 over games or if indoor facility unavailable for any reason

Cricket tournaments

All day hire (per pitch)

Pavilion with changing and kitchen facilities
No attendant
Additional £63 fee for litter collection per site, providing all litter is already bagged
Price available upon request

Please note:

prices for the hire of a cricket pitch excludes compulsory public liability insurance which clubs/teams must purchase direct.
any additional markings or wickets will be charged at the appropriate rate

Fitness sessions

For use of park area for commercial fitness/ training sessions/other commercial uses. Price per session:

Under 18: £20
18 and over: £27
