Adult social care
We’re here to help those who need us most. Across each dedicated team, we believe in rewriting people’s stories. We bring warmth, care, and uncompromising values.
How we help
Adult social care
We help adults maintain independence and strengthen their wellbeing by providing the very best care and support. It sees us work alongside adults with physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairment, dementia, or mental health problems. Plus, we help adults at risk of harm or neglect – who can’t protect themselves.
Our top priority is to ensure that people feel safe, and are safe. In this fast-paced team, we safeguard those who have been subject to - or are at risk of - harm and abuse. It means we often work closely with partner agencies including care/nursing homes, the police, health professionals, and the general public.
Luton is brimming with different cultures and communities. And this brings interesting, varied challenges for our social care professionals. We have four multi-disciplinary teams aligned to GP clusters – each comprising of social workers, social work managers, advanced practitioners, occupational therapists, social care assessors, and sensory workers.
Whichever role you join, it’s about helping people remain independent and safe in their own homes.
We provide a community-based assessment and care management service to those living in Luton with a learning disability. People are right at the heart of what we do – so we always put them first when making decisions.
No matter what, we’re here to give our customers a voice. To provide all the support they need, and give them the best possible quality of life.
Based at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, it’s our responsibility to make sure all complex patients are referred, assessed and discharged in a safe, timely way. We work closely with other teams in a demanding, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
Your time is precious, and we believe in working to live - not living to work! So we're proud to offer flexible and agile working options to our teams, just to make it that little bit easier.
As an extra perk for our adult social care service manager roles, we're offering you a market supplement rate, in addition to your yearly salary, of up to £5,000. Not forgetting to mention of course, a car supplement of £3,203 as well - that's an extra £8,203 a year!
With generous employer contributions of 17.3%, we'll help you save for your future. Retirement might seem like a distant dream right now, but when you're ready, we want to make sure you've got the funds to make the most of it - after all, you've earned it!
Whether you’re looking to take a step up in your career, move into a specialist area, or completely change direction – the Career Pathways programme will help get you there.
The programme will give you all the support, skills, knowledge and experience you need to develop and progress with us. It provides access to:
- taster days
- work experience
We can even help you gain new qualifications, and involve you in project work or decision-making meetings.
We also understand that people have different aspirations – that’s why development plans are tailored to each individual. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. So whatever your role or ambitions, the Career Pathways programme could truly help you shine.
The Social Work Career Pathway
We understand that family always comes first, so we've developed a range of family friendly policies to help make life a bit easier.
We'll support you all the way, from flexible working patterns to parental leave. And if starting or growing your own family is on the cards, then there's generous maternity, paternity and adoption polices for that too.
