Writing a CV

On this page...

Your CV is possibly one of the most important documents you’ll ever write, so it’s worth putting in the time and effort to craft a well laid out, interesting and relevant CV.

Writing your CV may seem like a daunting task but there are lots of great resources around to help you put together a CV that really sells you as a candidate.

Remember to get the basics right – CV’s littered with spelling errors and grammatical errors are not going to impress. Make sure it’s accurate and truthful – employers can easily check up on qualifications and references.

Don’t forget the covering letter too – make sure you use it to give the recruiter a reason to read your CV. When your letter and CV land in a potential employer’s inbox or their desk, you have a few precious minutes of their time to grab their attention – make the most of it.

How to write covering Letters

Too often the all-important covering letter is simply overlooked or quickly cobbled together. Read the comprehensive guide, How to write a cover letter, by the CV Library which shows how to build your cover letter and tailoring it for each opportunity you apply to.
