Luton Borough Council
How can I get involved as a council tenant or leaseholder?

If you are a council tenant or a council leaseholder you can get involved by helping to monitor, scrutinise or advise on our housing service.
We believe that involving our tenants and leaseholders in how we run our housing service helps us to get things right and ensure that we are providing the best possible service for everyone. Your views are important for us to know how our service is being received. You can get involved in the following ways:
Tenant Advisory Board (TAB)
A group of tenants who advise us on our housing policy and strategy.
Tenant Scrutiny Team (TeST)
A team of approved tenants who look in detail at how a specific area of our housing service is performing against national and local standards.
Service Area Panels (SAPs)
Regularly monitors the day-to-day running of the housing service. SAPs look at the following areas:
- rent
- repairs
- aids and adaptations to properties
- tenant rights and responsibilities
- antisocial behaviour
- communal cleaning and grounds maintenance
- sheltered housing
- leaseholders
Tenant and Resident Associations
These are local-based groups that represent tenant and residents. They meet regularly with our officers to resolve housing issues that affect their street or block.
Key Customers
Key Customers keep us up-to-date on issues in their area. These could be things like fly-tipping, bin collection, or cleaning of communal areas. If you are interested in becoming a key customer e-mail us at [email protected].
If you are interested in joining any of these groups please contact us on the numbers below.
