Health equity town event 2023
Over 80 people from Luton organisations, partners and stakeholders came together in Luton on the 14 December 2023 at Venue 360. At the event we celebrated and shared our learning about our journey over the last year about reducing health inequalities, since launching Luton as the first Marmot Town.

Luton health equity town prize 2023
Inequalities in health are a big challenge in Luton. Town prize aims to support actions by residents, communities, and organisations to tackle health inequalities.
Different projects
This project aims to identify frequent attenders age 16 to 64 in general practice, and will analyse the reasons for those attendances with aim to explore the health behaviours and the underlying psychological and social determinants. And to identify the preventative care needs.
Looking at low employment figures for adults with a learning disability, by ensuring recording and to have clear pathways. Support with employment in Luton is not only provided by the DWP but by community groups and charity organisations.
The Luton Youth health initiative: Building Stronger Futures is a youth club-style project designed to empower young people, provide them with essential life skills, and promote healthy behaviours, ultimately addressing health inequalities in Luton.
