Health Inequalities Challenge Prize launched

Health Inequalities are a big challenge in Luton. The Health Inequalities Challenge Prize aims to support actions by residents, communities and organisations to tackle health inequalities. : 

Luton has four priorities as part of the first year delivery of the Marmot approach, these are:

  1. supporting children and young people , includes:
    • raising aspirations
    • supporting young people who are not in education
    • employment or training
  2. net zero and health
  3. housing
  4. employment and skills (all ages)

The prize aims to support organisations to take action in at least one of these four domains.

There are no restrictions on who can apply for the prize. We encourage applicants to use the findings Marmot report when designing their interventions. 

There is a maximum of £50,000 available on offer to partners and organisations.

  1. The maximum grant will be £10,000 and will be allocated across five sectors (up to £10,000 per sector):
    • local government and public sector
    • health and care sector
    • housing
    • VCSFE
    • private sector and business
  2. The project must be related to delivery of supporting the Luton 2040 vision and Marmot Town approach
