Luton Dementia Action Alliance

Our aim is to make Luton a dementia-friendly community

A dementia-friendly community is a city, town or village where people with dementia are understood, respected and supported; and are confident they can contribute to community life.
Making Luton a dementia-friendly community is what we are working towards. We have already been nationally recognised for making progress, but there is still more work to be done.

Luton Dementia Action Alliance

Luton Dementia Action Alliance (LDAA) is an initiative in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society and a member of the National Dementia Action Alliance. It is a collection of individuals and organisations from the private and public sectors who want to work together to make improvements for those with dementia and their carers.
The LDAA is keen to welcome new individuals, organisations and companies as members.

Or you can phone one of the team on 01582 547646

There are other practical ways that you can help. You can become a Dementia Friend or a Dementia Friends Champion.

Dementia Friends
A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action. Anyone of any age can be a Dementia Friend. From helping someone to find the right bus to spreading the word about dementia on social media, every action counts.

Dementia Friends Champions
A Dementia Friends Champion is a volunteer who encourages others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia in their community. They do this by giving them information about the personal impact of dementia, and what they can do to help. They deliver the Dementia Friends information sessions.
