Luton Dementia Action Alliance
Our aim is to make Luton a dementia-friendly community
Making Luton a dementia-friendly community is what we are working towards. We have already been nationally recognised for making progress, but there is still more work to be done.
Luton Dementia Action Alliance
The LDAA is keen to welcome new individuals, organisations and companies as members.
How do I join Luton Dementia Action Alliance?
Your organisation will need to:
- write a simple action plan addressing the National Dementia Declaration
- submit to LDAA for acceptance
- agree to have your action plan submitted to the National Dementia Action Alliance for review
- attend several meetings of the LDAA
To join as an individual we only require you to share our passion and vision for improving the lives of those living with dementia and be willing to spread the word.
You can follow this link to read more about the LDAA
Or you can phone one of the team on 01582 547646
There are other practical ways that you can help. You can become a Dementia Friend or a Dementia Friends Champion.
Dementia Friends
A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action. Anyone of any age can be a Dementia Friend. From helping someone to find the right bus to spreading the word about dementia on social media, every action counts.

Dementia Friends Champions
A Dementia Friends Champion is a volunteer who encourages others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia in their community. They do this by giving them information about the personal impact of dementia, and what they can do to help. They deliver the Dementia Friends information sessions.
