Supporting vulnerable adults
The government's advice is that everyone should do what they can to stop coronavirus spreading through:
Most people who need to self-isolate will be able to arrange for help with food, shopping, prescriptions or other urgent supplies through their family, friends and neighbours. We're already seeing lots of great work out in the community and we need this to continue to help us all get through Covid-19.
Supermarkets are offering specific shopping times for the elderly, the vulnerable and their carers. We’ve put together a list of local supermarkets
, opening times and any further information you may find useful.

If you still can't find what you're looking for
You can contact us if you need support during this time, and you fall into one of these categories:
- 70 and over
- self isolating
- have underlying medical conditions (receive the flu jab)
- young people and families with no recourse to public funds eg cannot access benefits
We’re working with our voluntary sector partners to coordinate volunteers to ensure the most vulnerable people get the help they need.
To ensure a speedy response we encourage all those who need support to first use the buttons above to look through our directory of charities and local organisations who are already operating in your area. These organisations can provide you with immediate support.
