Local Healthwatch Luton

Local Healthwatch Luton became the new consumer champion for publicly funded health and social care services on 1 April 2013.

Following a nationally advertised procurement exercise, Luton Irish Forum were successful in being awarded the contract for the Local Healthwatch Service in Luton.

Healthwatch exists in 2 forms - Healthwatch England operating at a national level and Local Healthwatch. Under national reforms all local authorities in England were required to commission a Local Healthwatch Service.

Local Healthwatch Luton will provide the opportunity for the residents of Luton to:-

  • Become involved in shaping health and social care services
  • Have a greater say in the quality of the services available to them
  • Influence issues such as access, the provision of advice, information and signposting
  • Make informed choices about the services
