London Road Resource Centre

London Road can offer planned short term breaks to young people with additional needs between the ages of 0 - 18 years.

London Road aims to give the carer’s of young people with additional needs a break and provide the young people with opportunities to enhance their quality of life.

London Road offers a range of short breaks which include clubs, day care, parenting support , outreach and a residential component in order to meet the assessed needs of young people with additional needs and their families.

Facilities

There are single bedrooms, play areas, lounges, kitchen, dining room, toilets and bathing facilities and a large garden with a range of equipment.  London Rd is adapted for wheelchairs: and is equipped with hoists and adjustable beds.

The outreach service support children and young people with additional needs and their families either in the family home or out in the community.

Examples of outreach support include:

  • Enabling or improving school attendance
  • Provide support to shared carers where there are behaviour management issues
  • Support shared carers in accessing activities in the community
  • Support parents within their home by providing activities where children are not yet in full time education

London Road also provides a number of on site clubs either after school or on alternative weekends. The young people enjoy a range of activates which include life skills, travel training, cooking, sewing  and art & craft.

Who is eligible for a short break within London Road Specialist Resource Centre?

Young people between the ages of 0 - 18 years who are substantially affected in their every day lives and who have  additional needs, complex medical needs and/or severe behaviour that challenges and Autistic Spectrum conditions.

How do I access the service?
