Pupil Premium Plus (PP+)
Luton issues PP+ to eligible schools who have our Luton looked after children (LAC) on roll (reception to year 11) on a termly basis, upon receipt of a good quality personal education plan (PEP).
The amount is usually £600 per term but this is reviewed by the virtual school head and may differ from term to term.
The funding is monitored via the PEP and schools are accountable for this spend, which must be linked to targets set at the PEP meeting. In addition, all money allocated must focus on the needs of the child and improving their outcomes.
Additional funding can be requested and will be considered on an individual basis at the discretion of the virtual school head.
Where a high level of funding is required to meet the needs of the child, an application should be made for higher needs funding via the Special Educational Needs team.
Schools are required to report on the impact of the use of PP+ for individual LAC on a termly basis through the PEP.
The home authority of the LAC will have their own arrangements for administering PP+. Please contact the relevant virtual school if you have any queries regarding PP+ for other local authority looked after children on your school roll.
Where a high level of funding is required to meet the needs of the child an application should be made for higher needs funding.
PP+ will not be used as an alternative to higher needs funding.
