Luton Music Service is the lead organisation of the Luton Music Education Hub – ‘The Mix’
Music Education Hubs were established by DfE and DCMS as a result of recommendations made by Darren Henley that resulted in the publication of ‘The importance of music. A national plan for music education.
The mix provides high quality instrumental and vocal learning and teaching in schools and a range of other out of school and ensemble activities on weekday evenings and Saturday morning.
The mix is an innovative and enterprising body with an ambitious vision to inspire and lead all children and young people towards exciting, rewarding, varied and high quality progressive musical experiences, individually and with others, embracing and celebrating the broad and diverse cultures of Luton.
The mix successfully delivers the National Plan for Music Education in Luton, allowing all young people to participate fully in quality music-making activities delivered in new and innovative ways.
