If you have a query about primary relationships and health education (RHE), please see the process for raising your concerns below.
Step 1 - I have a query about RHE
Issue: I'd like to like to discuss the curriculum.
Resolution: Ask to have a meeting with classroom teacher to discuss your query.
Has this resolved your issue?
Yes: The school will write to you to confirm your discussion and will keep a record.
No: You can choose to withdraw your child from non-mandatory lesson(s) - go to step 2.
Step 2 - Withdrawing your child
Issue: I want to withdraw my child.
Resolution: Ask to have a meeting with a senior leader to discuss your query.
Has this resolved your issue?
Yes: I've decided not to withdraw my child. The school will write to you to confirm your discussion and will keep a record.
No: I still want to withdraw my child - go to step 3.
Step 3: Meeting arranged to discuss withdrawal
Issue: Meeting held with headteacher and governor/trustee to discuss withdrawal.
Resolution: Decision made as to whether or nt to withdraw child.
Has this resolved your issue?
Yes: I've decided to withdraw my child. See step 4.
Step 4: Steps taken by the local authority (LA)
- School to LA of parent query and get advice from [email protected].
- School to inform parent that they're seeking advice from LA.
- Meeting held with headteacher / LA / governor to discuss query.
- Letter sent to parent with supporting advice finalised by LA.
