Luton Borough Council
Council Tax Reduction
To apply for or view Council Tax Reduction (CTR) details online, you'll need to register for online services.
The main change to the CTR scheme is that working age households previously receiving up to 100% reduction on their Council Tax bill may now have to pay at least 25% themselves.
This includes people claiming the following benefits:
- Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Employment and Support Allowance
- Income Support
- Universal Credit
If you are affected by these changes, your council tax bill will explain exactly how much you have to pay.
The following groups will not be affected by these changes:
- pensioners
- families with a disabled adult or child in receipt of disability benefits
Are you on disability benefits?
We are aware that our system may not always recognise that there are disability benefits in payment. If you are in receipt of any disability benefit and think you have been billed incorrectly, please let us know by emailing [email protected] with the following details:
- your name
- address
- reference number
- the reason you think its incorrect
