General election 2019 (information)

Election

The election for members of parliament for the Luton North and Luton South constituencies takes place on Thursday 12 December 2019.

The polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm

With the exception of polling stations situation in Caddington forming part of the Luton South constituency, you can use the polling station lookup tool to locate your polling station.

Please see Statements of persons nominated documents below for full list of candidates standing at both Luton North and Luton South.

All the election notices will be published on the council’s website and town hall noticeboard.

How to vote

If you're currently on the register of electors and have not received a poll card you are still eligible to vote. Simply turn up at your polling station and inform the clerks of your name and address.

This card is for information only and you can still vote without the poll card.

Please give your name and address to the clerk to collect your ballot paper at the polling station.

If you know you won't be able to get to the polling station on the election day, you can apply for a postal vote or a proxy vote.

The deadline for proxy vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday 4 December.

The deadline for emergency proxy votes is 5pm on Thursday 12 December.

The verification and count

The verification and count will take place immediately following the close of poll at the Inspire Sports Centre and the result will be published on the council’s website.

Access to the count is restricted to candidates, agents and the returning officers staff.
