Engaging with us

We recently held a consultation where you told us you want the chance to influence decisions that shape and improve your neighbourhoods.

You want your councillors to work as local leaders who engage with you to get your views and keep you informed.

With this in mind the member-led engagement programme has been created to:
  • give you the chance to engage with the democratic process in your area
  • open up new ways to engage with councillors
Details of the ways you can engage are listed here.

Find my councillor

Just type in your postcode using the link below and you'll find all sorts of information, from who your local councillor is to what was discussed at the last council meeting.

You can even start your own e-petition and have your voice heard.

Councillors' ward surgeries

Councillors in Luton hold regular surgeries in their ward so that members of the public have regular opportunities to speak to them about any concerns or issues they have. Click the button below to find out the details of your next ward surgery.

Facebook

Our plan is for each ward to have its own Facebook page where you can interact directly with councillors and other residents.

This is particularly useful for younger people and those who are active online, but who may not choose to attend the traditional surgeries and meetings.

We have 17 wards live on Facebook already with the last few to be added very soon.

Your Say, Your Way (YSYW)

YSYW funding is a way in which community members can apply for up to £1,250 to help to make their community project ideas become a reality.

You're given the chance to vote for the projects that have been proposed for your ward. In fact it's the votes of the community that decide which projects are given funding.

Online voting for YSYW has now closed for 2018.

The next round of YSYW funding is to be confirmed where more information, including the new Decision Days details, will be on this webpage.

Let’s Talk

You told us you want to get involved and be kept informed through different methods that suit you, including meetings and direct feedback.

Let’s Talk meetings give you the opportunity to engage with your ward councillors, highlight the issues that are important to you and set ward priorities. They'll take place on a quarterly basis so keep checking for upcoming meetings in your area.
