Inclusive Economy
Inclusive Economy is a new department, created as part of the management restructure. It's made up of some of the following services.
Public Protection division
The Public Protection division has recently undergone a significant restructure into three new service areas which are:
- Neighbourhood Delivery
- Operational Support and Compliance
- Specialist Operations
Public Protection consists of a range of regulatory teams who all work towards the same primary purpose of 'making a visible difference'.
The three over-riding strategic aims of the division are:
- driving positive behaviour change within Luton with a focus on place based approaches
- trading, income and driving efficiency throughout the service
- creating and innovating with our partners to find the most effective solutions to regulatory issues
Property and Infrastructure
We are a team of dedicated, professional people that look after all aspects of the council's buildings and land which include;
- development of property strategies and policies and implement them
- work with services to ensure properties meet service and community needs through asset management
- managing our investment properties to get the best from them (financially and in terms of use)
- maximise income from our properties
- provide a 'landlord' function
- keep our properties compliant with health and safety and ensure they meet all property legislation requirements
- project manage developments on our properties and land
- building control
- corporate health and safety

This consists of the following departments:
- Procurement
- Adult and Community Learning
- Economic Development
