Luton Citizens Fund 2025-26

The Luton Citizens’ Fund is an area‑based participatory budgeting programme that invites residents to directly decide which local projects receive funding.

The programme is funded by the Council’s Social Justice Unit, Luton Rising, and BeActive Beds, and is delivered in partnership with Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation (BLCF).

Decision days

The Luton Citizens’ Fund 2025–26 decision days will take place on Saturday 21 February, between 10am and 12pm.

The event will be running simultaneously across the five areas of the town.

The decision days support the Luton 2040 vision of a healthy, fair, and sustainable town by placing residents at the centre of local decision‑making.

Attendees will hear directly from community organisations about how funding could benefit their local area and how proposed projects aim to support local communities.

Decision day locations

Please attend the decision day in your area and vote between 10am and 12pm:

  • Central (Beech Hill, Biscot, Dallow & Saints) at Denbigh High School, LU3 1HE
  • North (Barnfield, Bramingham, Northwell & Sundon Park) at St Augustine Church, LU3 2JR
  • East (Round Green, Stopsley, Wigmore & Vauxhall) at Stopsley Baptist Church, LU2 7XP
  • South (Central, High Town, Farley & South) at Central Family Hub, LU1 2NG
  • West (Challney, Leagrave, Lewsey & Poets) at Lewsey Community Centre, LU4 0SW

2025–26 funding themes

All projects align with one of the following themes:

  • fairness and social justice
  • community safety and cohesion
  • improving health inequalities (including poverty, wellbeing, and social isolation)
  • employment and skills
  • increasing physical activity and active lifestyles (in partnership with Be Active)

Decision day event format

Events will run on a drop‑in basis and each project will host a stall and deliver a short pitch up to 3 minutes.

Attendees (aged 14+ and living in the event area) must visit all stalls to vote.

Voting will use a one to four scoring system, supported by a clear scoring guidance and results will be collated after the event, with projects notified week commencing 23 February 2026.

It would be great to see you at your local decision day, voting for projects that will make a difference in your neighbourhood.
