Procurement events
The council strives to support the local economy through its contracts by placing a focus on local supply chains and jobs and skills markets. We encourage the following:
- use of local sub-contractors
- adding local businesses to supply chains
- addressing skills gaps
- local recruitment
- apprenticeships
These areas will feature prominently within our social value expectations for all future opportunities and will have a significant weighting in tender evaluations.
To support our aim, we are encouraging contractors to establish relationships with local sub-contractors and supply chains.
